Music on TV

I’m way more likely to go out and buy an album containing a cool song I heard on a commercial than I am to buy what the song was supposed to help sell.

Case in point: Royksopp’s “Remind Me.” I heard it for the first time tonight on a Geico commercial. I care more about the song than I do about saving 15% on my car insurance. Apparently I’m late on this one. The commercial first aired when I was in England, but I instantly recognized the singer’s voice as that of the vocalist from the Kings of Convenience. I really dig those guys, and I guess Royksopp work pretty closely with them (Norwegians gotsta stick together). So I bought the album from iTunes just now, and I like it so far. I enjoy downtempo electronic music, and I’m always looking for more. Also got some Boards of Canada, which I should’ve done ages ago.
